Sam, Sammy, Samuel… Call him what you will, but the founder of 144design has made a name for himself by providing his clients with the best design solutions and customer-focused service around. His creative roots run deep and wide with a range of creative skills that extend far beyond the office doors.
Over the past few decades Sam’s exploration and desire to create has helped build a strong foundation for 144design. Since 2004, Sam worked full-time for employers, while spending much of his free time freelancing and building a solid client base of his own. Those countless hours and years of hard work paid off when he officially launched 144design, Incorporated in March of 2013.
Q&A with Samuel Gross
What do you like best about 144design?
Our clients. I wouldn’t be where I am without them. I experience so much joy in seeing our work help clients grow and succeed.
“You never need to apologize for being well dressed.” – David Gross (that’s my dad)
What font would you be?
Probably Helvetica… cliche, I know. But there is something to be said for its versatility and the fact that it is used everywhere, yet flies under the radar in so many applications. Check out the film if you get a chance… HELVETICA
If not design… then what?
Cooking. I have a love and passion for food. There is something about working and creating with your hands. For me, the preparation of something so essential to life, is such a great opportunity to express and present a part of myself to others.
