McKenzie joined 144design as a graphic designer in September 2015. Her passion for creativity and sense of adventure influence her design and inspire those around her.
Born and raised in the Land of 10,000 lakes, McKenzie is a Minnesota girl who lives in the city but keeps her heart near nature. Her entrepreneurial mind has helped her kick-start her career in design, while keeping her faith and values at the forefront of her work. She is also known for hoarding stationery, standing up for cats and is quite the fisher-woman. Surely, we will see more great work and a bright future from this one.
Q&A with McKenzie
“Give others the grace to grow”
What font would you be?
If I were a font I would be Comic Sans… and then my second choice would be Monsterrat by Julieta Ulanovsky. Monsterrat is clean cut and yet doesn’t quite follow all of the rules, making it simple and unique. Julieta created this font to give homage to typography found in Monsterrat, Buenos Aires in the first half of the twentieth century and really poured her heart into it. Similarly, I am a nostalgic soul who enjoys paying tribute to the past and finding beauty in each day.
If not design… then what?
Adventuring… Is that a word? It has been a goal of mine to visit all 59 national parks in the United States… So, I’m working on that.
A book you’d recommend?
Macbook… but I would also recommend “Love Does“ by Bob Goff. It is an amazingly easy read yet very funny and introspective.
